It seems someone has made the horrible decision of converting “The Simpsons” from 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio. This video compares the old dvd version and new version taken from a Danish broadcast. Please notice the mix of cropping (removing parts of the image), stretching (notice that the characters look obese in some scenes) and pillarboxing (black boxes in the sides of the picture). Also notice that the color or the unfinished roller caoster construction has changed color and that the credit graphics has changed position (and renedered in a HD font).

As a result of this, I have decided to convert a few other pieces of art to 16:9 format. Enjoy!
